(From Eugene Peterson's THE MESSAGE version of the Bible) Psalm 18:19-23 God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before HIM. When I got my act together, HE gave me a fresh start. Now I'm alert to God's ways; I don't take God for granted. Every day I review the ways HE works, I try not to miss a trick. I feel put back together, and I'm watching my step. GOD REWROTE THE TEXT OF MY LIFE WHEN I OPENED THE BOOK OF MY HEART TO HIS EYES! Psalm 18:28-33 WHAT A GOD! His road stretches straight and smooth; Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward HIM makes it! Is there any god like GOD? Are we not at bedrock? Is not this the God who armed me, then aimed me in the right direction? Now I run like a deer;I'm king of the mountain!

God's recipe: Isaiah 33:13 The answer's simple: Live right, speak truth, despise exploitation, refuse bribes, reject violence, avoid evil amusements. This is how you raise your standard of living! A safe and stable way to live. A nourshing, satisfying way to live.

MY RIVER EXPERIENCE VERSES

Isaiah 43:1-3a. But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, "O Vicki, Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!  When you walk through the water, I will be with you; And through the rives, they will not overflow you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.  For I am the LORD your GOD, the HOLY ONE of Israel, YOUR SAVIOR!"  This passage is going to be the subject of my book someday.  I have learned the smell of God through this verse - I clung to these verses when I thought I was drowning during the most difficult experience of my life and God was true to HIS promise.  GOD IS SO GOOD!
